Cole woke up before Abby and just watched her sleep. She was curled into his side, resting her head on his chest. He felt so lucky he had found his perfect woman. But he was still concerned that he wouldn’t be welcomed into her family. Abby wasn’t worried about their future, but Cole wasn’t so confident. He really wanted to be with her for the rest of his life, but he worried what her father would think of him.

Chapter Thirteen

Several weeks had passed since the first time Cole and Abby had made love. They were inseparable, and in Cole’s eyes, even with the self-doubt regarding her father, life couldn’t have been better.

Cole walked into his kitchen and had to stop and enjoy the sight in front of him. The sun streamed through the window of his pretty yellow kitchen and seemed to spotlight Abby as she was putting away groceries in his fridge. He leaned against the doorjamb, crossed his arms and watched as she wiggled her butt and sang off key to Justin Timberlake. Three things crossed his mind while he lingered. One, his kitchen never looked so cheery and welcoming; two, the radio was turned up so loud there was no way she knew he was there and; three, she definitely brought sexy back. She was so beautiful.

Cole walked up behind her and put his arms around her waist in the hopes of stealing a few afternoon kisses. She screamed like someone stabbed a dull pencil in her ear. “You scared the life out of me!” Abby quickly put down the eggs on the counter so she wouldn’t drop them, turned, wrapped her arms around Cole and sighed.

“Sorry, baby, I couldn’t resist touching you. You looked so sexy dancing in my kitchen. What were you thinking about?”

“I was thinking about the first time you took me for a motorcycle ride through the countryside. I was so scared and excited all at the same time.”

Cole gave Abby a little butt squeeze. “I remember that ride.” Cole leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “You were holding on to me so tight I could hardly breathe. I thought you were going to break my ribs.”

Abby laughed at the memory. “I guess I was a little more scared than excited, especially when we made right turns. It felt like we were so close to the road.”

“We were fine. You know I would never put you in any danger. Since my ribs are still intact, you’re obviously more excited now than scared.”

“You’re right. Every time you take me for a ride, I have sooo much fun. I love it so much. The feeling of the wind on my face and the freedom of the open road.”

“I’m glad I could share my passion with you.”

Abby looked sly and flirty. “I love when you share your passion too!”

“Funny! Dirty girl, you know I meant my bike but…” He strung out the words and gave her a look that made Abby’s toes curl.
